Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Farmington Residents Directory receives, how that information is used, and the choices available to you. The service is a reference to Farmington, Connecticut public rolls and historical collections. It does not require an account and is designed to retain very little visitor information.

Information You Submit

A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies those results. Farmington Residents Directory does not keep a copy of the search terms on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the contents of that message and use them to answer it.

Ordinary Technical Logs

Hosting providers may record an IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. Those signals are reviewed in aggregate for site performance and page use. Cookies or related tools may support basic analytics or, where relevant, advertising measurement.

How the Information Is Used

The limited information helps operate the pages, fix technical issues, measure traffic, and improve the reference. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from this information.

External Portals and Links

Pages link to Farmington and Connecticut records offices, libraries, archives, and third-party search tools. Once you leave these pages, the outside provider’s privacy policy controls what you submit there. Sponsored search results are supplied by a separate company as well.

Who May Receive It

Hosting and support vendors may process ordinary server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the technical information described above. Information is disclosed when a valid legal process requires disclosure, and otherwise is not shared for that purpose.

Security Measures

The pages use an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only while the purposes above call for them. Because the service has no visitor accounts, it does not maintain a site password or user profile that could be exposed here.

Visitors Under 18

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent information to us, use the Contact page so it can be reviewed and deleted.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on location and applicable exemptions, a visitor may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held by a website. Connecticut’s consumer-privacy statute is Chapter 743jj, CGS §§42-515 through 42-526. Because this service keeps very little, a request usually involves checking the contact mailbox and ordinary logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by Connecticut, the Hartford Judicial District, Farmington, or another custodian are outside this service’s control; a removal or correction request for those records must go to the office that holds the record. Public-record access is governed separately by the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, CGS §§1-200 through 1-242.

Policy Updates

Revisions will be posted on this page with the updated policy text. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the new version.
